Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of the Azores and a PhD in Mathematics, specialty of Algebra, at the University of the Azores, she is a member of the Interdisciplinary Center for Children and Adolescents (NICA) at the University of the Azores.

She has been responsible for teaching curricular units in the degree courses in Basic Education, Informatics - Networks and Multimedia and Civil Protection and Risk Management, as well as curricular units of the Master's in Pre-School Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Education Basic.

She was part of the organizing committee of several events for dissemination, research and mathematics training aimed at various audiences.
