She is a psychologist, with a PhD in Psychological Assessment from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra (FPCE-UC). She is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at the University of the Azores. She was also an invited Assistant Professor at FPCE-UC and at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the University of Beira Interior.

She participated in several research projects in the area of evaluation and intervention with preschool children. She is trained in the Incredible Years for Parents and Educators/Teachers programs. She is the author of the Portuguese version of Preschool and Kindergarten Behavior Scales – Second Edition (PKBS-2).

She is an Effective Member of the Portuguese Psychological Association, with a specialty degree in Clinical and Health Psychology, and an International Affiliate of the American Psychological Association (APA). She is a member of the PsyAssessmentLab (Laboratory of Psychological Assessment and Psychometrics) of the FPCE-UC and of the European Association of Psychological Assessment (EAPA).  She is also an integrated member of the Research Center of the Center for Cognitive-Behavioral Studies and Intervention (CINEICC; FPCE-UC).

She has developed his teaching work in the area of psychological assessment and child development (among others). She has several national and international communications and is the author of several international publications in the field of psychological assessment, mostly with preschool-age children.
