BOOK LAUNCH
In a partnership with NEFI-UERJ (Nucleo de Estudos Filosóficos, from the State University of Rio de Janeiro), two books on Philosophy for Children were recently launched.
The first one entitled "Between Liberation and Oppression: a path to think about the practice of philosophy with children", by Filipa Igrejas, Master in Philosophy for Children at the University of the Azores, launched online on May 20, 2020 ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILZ7_cSdivU).
The second, by Dr. Magda Costa Carvalho, professor at FCSH Universidade dos Açores, Director of the Master's in Philosophy for Children and Vice-Director of NICA, entitled "Philosophy for Children: the (im)possibility of calling it other things". This book was released online on June 17, 2020 ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dzlmdwWfjA&t=1830s) .

SER BEBÉ
In partnership with APEI - Association of Early Childhood Education Professionals, NICA participated in the organization of the XVI SER BEBÉ.
This event, aimed at kindergarten teachers in general, e for professionals who deal more directly with children from 0 to 3 years old, took place at the University of the Azores, in Ponta Delgada, on the 3rd of February 2018 and was attended by recognized experts in the field.
APEI REGIONAL MEETINGS IN THE AZORES
The 1st APEI Regional Meeting in the Azores took place on the 3rd and 4th of July 2017 and was attended by renowned specialists in Early Childhood Education who, over the course of two days, allowed for a broad debate on Curriculum issues in Preschool Education. -School.
The II Regional Meeting took place on June 29, 2018 and was promoted by a group of high quality speakers, including destacamos_cc781905-5cde-3193-bb3b Teresa Vasconcelos, from the Lisbon School of Education, the biggest reference in Portugal in the field of early childhood education; a Prof.ª Elisa Marques, Coordinator of the Aesthetic and Artistic Education Team of the Directorate-General for Education, one of the greatest specialists in the field of curriculum.
The III Regional Meeting should take place on June 28, 2019 at the University of the Azores in Ponta Delgada.
NEW STRATEGIES FOR LEARNING MATHEMATICS
A 1st edition deste event that took place on the university campus of Ponta Delgada da UAc, from February 26th to February 22nd as guest speakers with Carlos Pereira dos Santos (CEAFEL & CST) and Richard Bisk (Worcester State University, USA).
The Organizing Committee was composed by Ana Paula Garrão, Margarida Raposo and Ricardo Cunha Teixeira, from NICA.
