Ricardo Teixeira

He is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of the Azores, where he has taught since 2000. He holds a degree and a master's degree in Mathematics from the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra and a PhD in Mathematics from the University of the Azores . In recent years, he has been responsible for teaching subjects such as Mathematics (Bachelors in Biology, Biological and Health Sciences, Marine Sciences and Civil Protection and Risk Management), Applications of Mathematics (Bachelor in Basic Education) and Methodology of Mathematics Teaching (Master's in Pre-School Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education). He was also responsible for teaching modules in the Basic Cycle of Medicine and in the Master's in Mathematics for Teachers, as well as for supervising several internship reports and Master's dissertations. He has been developing research on various topics of Applied Mathematics, namely in the study of mathematical models applied to Natural Sciences. He also dedicates particular attention to the Teaching of Mathematics, having participated over the years in various national and international meetings on Education and Recreational Mathematics. He is responsible for the training workshops “Step by Step Mathematics”,  within the scope of the Prof DA Project of the ProSucesso Program – Azores for Education, of the Government of the Azores.
