Ana Isabel Santos

PhD in Education, specializing in Portuguese Language Teaching Methodology, from the University of the Azores, Master in Educational Psychology from the Higher Institute of Applied Psychology in Lisbon and a degree in Pre-School Education from the Universidad Metropolitana de Caracas-Venezuela.

She started her professional activity as a kindergarten teacher and, in the last 20 years, she has been involved in the initial and continuous training of kindergarten teachers and teachers of the 1st cycle of basic education, at the University of the Azores.

She is currently an Assistant Professor at this University and she was Director of the Master's in Pre-School Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education for ten years.

With several communications and articles published within the scope of Early Childhood Education, his teaching activity is fundamentally oriented towards the teaching of specific didactics and the monitoring of curricular internships within the scope of the Degree in Basic Education and the Master in Pre-School Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education of the aforementioned University.

She is an integrated founding member and current Director of NICA – Interdisciplinary Center for Children and Adolescents, at the University of the Azores, and a collaborating member of the CIE – Center for Research in Education at ISPA-Instituto Universitário.
