Anabela Faria

She has a degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of the Azores, specialized in Early Intervention from the Instituto Superior de Educação e Ciências de Lisboa and a PhD in Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto, having completed an internship at Harvard Medical School at Parent-Child Link area. She is a professor at the Pediatrics Service, Outpatient Consultation and Day Hospital, at Hospital de Santo Espírito on Terceira Island. She is a member of the development support consultation at the same Health Unit, is an instructor of Baby Massage by the Portuguese Association of Infant Massage, a collaborator at the Lisbon School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon and a member of the Interdisciplinary Center for Children and Adolescents of University of the Azores. She has participated in several reviews of scientific articles at the invitation of several national and foreign journals, supervised several master's theses in the area of Early Intervention and participated in several jury panels in the defense of several master's theses. She currently chairs the Regional Coordination Team for Early Intervention, guiding and supporting 17 regional teams.
